Some of you may hit an unfortunate situation of inability to submit details in Income Tax Portal while seeking some services. One such situation is an error as, "Invalid Format for ARN". You'll see an error something like this.  Several people struggle to fix this issue, as the error description is not descriptive of the actual reason. I found that this happens when the master data in the Income Tax portal for the assessee is not complete for the mandatory fields. This is a common situation especially for people who had updated their profile long ago, while the Income Tax Department has updated their software making few more fields as mandatory. Once the data is fixed by manually editing the profile information in the income tax portal, this time the submission of information for the form 15CB or other needs could go through successfully, provided there are no further errors.  Hope readers will find this useful .If you have come across more situations such as this, please...
